How It All Began

Back in 2016 Tammy and Jason felt a calling to do some type of work for the Lord.  They didn’t know where the calling would take them, they just knew there had to be more to life.  They spent a lot of time discussing their purpose and their whole family’s purpose for that matter and then it hit them.  “What if we start a charity that involves our children and our family?”  Without exaggeration, in less than 2 minutes, the Lord gave them the name of their Christian non-profit charity and P.U.R.P.O.S.E. was born; People Uniting Resources and Products On Spiritual Endeavors.

President & Co-Founder

Tammy Newman

Tammy is a Christian, military wife and a mom to 2 amazing kiddos. She was born in the great state of Texas to nurturing parents who instilled the importance of faith, family and love. Being part of a military family has given her a different perspective on the term "bloom where you are planted". As a result of the sacrifices her husband has made while serving in the Army, and all the moves they have made, they've been blessed to meet some amazing friends, several of which now serve on the P.U.R.P.O.S.E. board. Tammy has an entrepreneurial spirit and passion to help others and plans to use her past experience to help P.U.R.P.O.S.E. help people around the world.

Secretary & Co-Founder

Jason Newman

Jason was born just outside Detroit Michigan to very loving and supportive Christian parents. Unfortunately, like most prodigal children, he wandered away. Eventually however, God graciously and undeservedly brought him back home; through a study of apologetics, and a heart for those less fortunate, Jason eventually found his spot in our Father’s Kingdom. Jason prioritizes his life, and defines himself as a Christian, husband, father, son…and somewhere down the list are stuff like Army officer, physician assistant, and serial dieter. Jason has a passion for helping others, and together with his lovely wife Tammy, believe PURPOSE can be utilized by the Lord to do just that. He believes that for everything PURPOSE can do for others’, it can also help focus and guide his family. One Sunday a week isn’t enough to keep most Christians on the straight and narrow, especially children. If we can keep our kid’s attention outside themselves, and actively engaged in loving others, perhaps that will be enough to keep them forever in the fold. PURPOSE is a family affair; together with likeminded believers, we will enthusiastically, and unapologetically, witness for Christ until his return–Maranatha!

Director

Tiffany Martin

Tiffany is a child of God, army wife, mama, teacher, coach, forever-learner. Born in Louisiana, raised in Western Kentucky, Tiffany loves her Southern roots. Through her childhood, Tiffany had two parents who loved her and the two siblings she grew up with. She had two sets of grandparents who set strong examples of faith and marriage. She also was fortunate enough to have two great-grandmothers who were there for her whole childhood. From an early age, Tiffany knew she wanted to teach, and that is what she did. Currently, she has nine years of experience in schools--from teaching middle and high school to coaching teachers and working more one-on-one with students. Recently, she just wrapped up her Master of Arts in Education Administration. Tiffany met her husband, Thomas (Tommy) Martin, in March of 2015, and before the year could end, they married in December. Tommy is her true partner in life and supports her in all of her endeavors. Throughout their marriage, together, they have grown as a couple but before that could happen, they had to grow their relationship with God. Tommy is the true spiritual leader Tiffany needed in her life. Looking back at their ups and downs, she knows God knew what He was doing when He put Tommy in her life. After battling infertility for years, God placed a very special young lady in their lives, offering them the biggest blessing---a son through adoption. Tiffany did not know just how much she was going to love being a mom until Nash Thomas came along. Nash was born in July 2019, and he continues to bless their family every day.
